The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has responded to the request from the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) security consultant, stating that the BCB has not expressed any security concerns.
Sources indicate that the Bangladesh A cricket team will arrive in Islamabad on August 7. The team will not be accompanied by a security consultant or manager. The BCB has requested their government for a security consultant for the Test team.
A PCB spokesperson explained that security managers or consultants are now part of the player support staff, just like media managers and team doctors. Security managers typically accompany teams during ICC men's series and bilateral series.
The spokesperson added that it is the BCB's prerogative to include a security consultant as part of the team management. So far, the BCB has not raised any security concerns. The security plan was shared with Bangladesh last month, and no additional requests or questions have been raised regarding the plan.
Bangladesh to Send Security Delegation to Pakistan Before Series
Before the series, Bangladesh will send a security delegation to Pakistan. According to PCB sources, the Bangladesh cricket team will arrive in Islamabad on August 17 for two Test matches, which are part of the ICC World Test Championship.
PCB officials have stated that ensuring the team's security is Pakistan's responsibility, and the BCB is in contact with Pakistani officials regarding security arrangements.
The BCB has announced two captains for three separate squads for the tour of Pakistan. According to a statement issued by the board, opener Anamul Haque Bijoy has been appointed captain of Bangladesh A for the two four-day matches against Pakistan, while Towhid Hridoy will captain the team for the three one-day matches.
Previously, the Bengal Board had announced the squads for both series, but the captains were officially announced today.
