An IT expert from Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, fled his home and city due to alleged abuse by his wife. After going missing on August 4, he was recently found in Noida.
According to media reports, the IT expert from Bengaluru revealed that he left home to escape his wife’s abuse.
The Noida police found the IT expert from North Bengaluru while he was returning home after watching a movie.
Authorities later escorted him back to Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, after her husband went missing, the IT expert's wife accused the police of not using their authority to locate him. She expressed concern on social media, fearing that her husband had been kidnapped.
Reports indicate that the IT expert left his home to withdraw money from an ATM before disappearing.
Police stated that tracking him down was challenging during the investigation because he had turned off his mobile phone. CCTV footage from bus stations, railway stations, and airports was obtained to aid in the search.
The police finally managed to locate the IT expert when he purchased a new SIM card in Noida and activated it on his phone, allowing the authorities to identify his location.
During questioning by plainclothes police officers in Noida, the IT expert expressed reluctance to return home and pleaded with the police, saying, "Put me in jail; I’ll stay there, but I don’t want to go back home."
The police officer explained to the IT expert that his wife had filed a missing person’s report, which could only be withdrawn after his return.
The IT expert told the police that his wife allegedly subjected him to abuse and controlled his actions.
He disclosed that he is her second husband and that they have an 8-month-old daughter. He mentioned that his wife has strict control over his daily activities, including his clothing and behavior, and even scolds him over minor issues like spilling food.
In an attempt to avoid being recognized, the IT expert shaved his head, as his wife had posted his photos and videos on social media.
Sharing details of his journey with the police, he said that he first traveled to Tirupati by bus, then took a train to Bhubaneswar, and finally reached Delhi and Noida.
Although the IT expert was sent back home after the incident, the situation has highlighted domestic issues, and such incidents show that people may take extreme measures to avoid such circumstances.
